Certificate Programs

Be equipped with a variety of tools to meet the demands of today’s life-science research.

Individuals who focus on data analysis must equip themselves with a variety of tools to meet the demands of today’s life-science research. Through a mix of integrated training in the computational, quantitative, and biomedical sciences, students will enhance their expertise, and prepare for other professional degrees.

The certificate programs are designed to supplement and build on the knowledge of working professionals who desire additional training in biostatistics and epidemiology. It will also cater to students who wish to further their knowledge of these two fields by immersing themselves into the field for one academic year in preparation for other graduate or professional degrees.

No other program in the surrounding states offers such a mix of course offerings in a single certificate program. The certificate programs that Georgetown offer benefits from the presence of a medical school, a National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center, and a large contingent of biomedical researchers.

Like the masters program, students will collaborate closely with DBBB faculty and biomedical scientists in the certificate program; they will be encouraged to apply and implement the methodologies and knowledge immediately in their work environment.

Students are required to complete a total of 15 required course credits, and on a full-time basis can complete the program in one year (no summer coursework required).
