M.S. Curriculum & Program Schedule (Full-Time)
For graduation with an M.S. degree in Biostatistics, students must complete 32 credits of course work that include 30 fundamental core credits and 2 M.S. Requirement credits (Options: Practicum I & II or Special Topic I & II). The minimum prerequisites are multi-variable calculus, linear algebra and one statistics course.
Year 1, Semester 1 (Fall):
BIST 500: Department Seminar (0 credit)
BIST 510: Probability and Sampling (3 credits)
BIST 511: Statistical Inference (3 credits)
BIST 515: Introduction to Statistical Software (2 credits)
BIST 541: Principles of Epidemiology (3 credits)
Year 1, Semester 2 (Spring):
BIST 500: Department Seminar (0 credit)
BIST 512: Categorical Data Analysis (3 credits)
BIST 513: Survival Analysis (3 credits)
BIST 514: Linear Models and Multivariate Analysis (3 credits)
MS Requirement: (choose from option 1 or 2)
